Okay, this is going to be a little different than most of my posts. Tonight I had the unthinkable occur -- I went to open up my lightroom library to export some images and my entire drive had been corrupted. I tried several image editing tools to try restoring the data but none of them worked! The drive was a 500gb disk that was almost full! There one day, gone the next -- a full year (2007) of work!
Fortunately, I put a backup strategy in place a long time ago and had 3 copies of the data stored in different locations so my data was safe :-)
I'm posting this for two reasons. The most important: to remind you to take some time today to backup your important files! Second: to assure my clients that your files are safe with me! My backup plan is pretty solid and unless there is some kind of a disaster that takes out the West Coast, we're covered.
If you are looking for a good backup solution, let me know and I can send some resources.
